Model A Mandolin, front view
This is the Price Model A mandolin. It features an art deco peghead like the one on the Artist Model, except for the distinctive abalone and mother of pearl center inlay. It also has curly maple in the back, sides and neck, a Sitka spruce top, rosewood fingerboard with dot inlay, the fine SL-8 tailpiece,
nickel plated hardware, hand-shaded sunburst, hand-rubbed lacquer finish, ivoroid binding, f-holes, rosewood bridge, a handmade mother of pearl or abalone truss rod cover and an optional pickguard which does not obstruct the f-hole. .
The same wood options are available, tops of Engelmann spruce, Adirondack and Appalachian red spruce, western red cedar and Douglas fir; and back, sides and neck, of maple from Tennessee, West Virginia,Pennsylvania, Michigan, the Pacific Northwest, or Oregon myrtle. Prices start at $2495. Options include Price and Nelson case, select fancy wood, varnish finish.
