Artist Model Mandolin, back view

Here's the back side of the Artist Model. This one is made with Pennsylvania curly maple back, sides and neck and a hand-stained vintage sunburst.

I also have other woods for the back, sides and neck; maple from Tennessee, West Virginia, Michigan, the Pacific Northwest and myrtle from Oregon. Myrtle can be flamed like maple, but is softer and yields a rich and warm, sweet tone.
