Price Dreadnought Guitar Case
The Price Dreadnought guitar case is a wedge-shaped fiberglass case with two storage compartments and the guitar is well supported
to provide maximum protection from shock. The instrument does not make contact with the case shell at any point. It is available in white or
light tan exterior with interior colors
Burgundy, Princess Blue,or Forest Green. Other colors will be available,
as the fabric supplier can deliver them. It provides better impact protection, better shock protection and, due to the use of light colors only, better protection
from radiant heat (if you forget to bring it inside from the bed of the pickup while you go to lunch) than ANY case, at ANY price.
Here's an interior shot, just out of the upholstery shop.
There have been more than a few questions about comparisons with Calton. Calton makes an excellent case,
of a very traditional and conventional style, from good materials and with good craftsmanship. A very good
product is not necessarily the state of the art, or something that can't be improved upon.
The Price case is designed for a D-sized and SHAPED guitar. Here's a Bourgeois Country Boy in the Price case. Note that the
padding is the same thickness around the whole bottom end of the guitar.
Here's the same Country Boy in the Calton case. Note that the padding is thicker at the end pin and thinnest
where the guitar is widest. The Calton is properly shaped for a large body jazz guitar,
and probably was first designed for that purpose.
