In fifteen years of making and selling the SL-5 (previously called StraightLine) banjo tailpiece, I can count the number of returns on the fingers of one hand and have a couple of fingers left. One was due to a broken brass hinge pin on an early version which was made before I started using steel roll pins for the hinge. Another concerned a broken hinge block, which I suspect resulted from excess torque on the hanger bolt. Another just didn't like it. The first two were replaced, no questions asked, and the third was given a refund. That's all I can do.
Unlike many builders of new instruments, I have a policy of considering tradeins of high quality, name brand, saleable instruments whether in need of some repair or perfect condition. Tradein value is, of course, at wholesale.
I am always interested in swapping, and usually have a couple of guitars, banjos or mandolins available.
